Ronaldo Does Armani
(NEW YORK) David Beckham just lost his biggest modeling gig. Giorgio Armani announced this morning that Cristiano Ronaldo, who plays for Spanish club Real Madrid and the national Portuguese team, will be the new official face of worldwide campaigns for Emporio Armani men’s underwear and Armani Jeans starting in the spring. The move is interesting, since Ronaldo is one of the current faces of international soccer and is expected to be one of the stars of 2010 World Cup in South Africa, commencing June 11. Beckham’s national team, England has already qualified, while Portugal is still in the pool. If they lose against Hungary this weekend, Armani’s big global plans might be soured.
