Ciao Milano

(NEW YORK) The annual amfAR party at the Cannes Film Festival is arguably the event of the season, but come September, the festivities will move to Milan. The organization is throwing amfAR Milano, the first of what will be an annual fête in Milan on September 28, chaired by the inimitable Janet Jackson. Held at the city’s La Permanent, the black-tie evening will be sponsored by DSquared2, BMW, and Vanity Fair (among others)--so cross your fingers for a Graydon sighting and, presumably, a Dean and Dan Caten-designed dress for Miss Jackson. Cocktails, dinner, dancing (with DJ Bob Sinclair), a live auction to benefit the Foundation for AIDS Research, and burlesque performance by Dita Von Teese will make the evening one to remember. “For amfAR, coming to Milan is like coming home—or at least like visiting your closest friends,” said amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost. “We are profoundly grateful to Janet Jackson for joining amfAR as a chair of its first event in Milan. She brings incomparable grace and a history of dedication to the fight against AIDS.”
