A New Scents-ability
(NEW YORK) Last fall, a new initiative known as Six Scents paired designers like Jeremy Scott, Preen’s Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, Gareth Pugh, and Alexandre Herchcovitch with expert perfumers to create limited-edition fragrance collaborations. Individually numbered and custom-packaged, the bottles were sold to benefit Designers Against AIDS and the International AIDS Awareness Education Center in Antwerp. Six Scents has now announced the 2009 design class, which will partner with a fragrance expert from Givaudan.
Phillip Lim, Damir Doma, Henrik Vibskov, Henry Holland, Richard Nicoll and Toga will each create scents for the second series, which will launch in September. Expect each to reflect the brands in an innovative way—Jeremy Scott’s Series One fragrance was called “Illicit Sex,” while Preen’s take was named “Teen Spirit.” Sixth Sense fragrances are available in New York at Henri Bendel, Oak, Seven New York, and the New Museum Store, among others.
