A Single Man in Italy
(NEW YORK) A serious scheduling conflict for the fashion-inclined jet-setters: you cannot wait to catch the premiere of Tom Ford’s directorial debut--but the date? September 11. Yes, during New York's Fashion Week. And the venue? Well, not anywhere your Town Car can take you. A Single Man is slated to close out the Venice Film Festival with its premiere screening on the 11th, just two weeks after the other highly anticipated fashion film of the season, The September Issue, opens in the States.
Ford directed and co-wrote the screenplay for A Single Man, the story of a college professor's life after the death of his partner, and Ford's production company, Fade to Back, produced the film. Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, and Matthew Goode all star, so we can assume that Ford and those equally photogenic three will also not be making appearances at Fashion Week in favor of jetting to Italy.
