(NEW YORK) Michael Angel's star just keeps rising. The Australian designer is debuting his 5th runway collection in the opening slot of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 10. "I'm thrilled to be back at the Tents," he told The Daily last night at the Australians in New York Fashion Foundation benefit.
Angel, a renowed artist known for his hand-made as well as digital work, began his career at age 18 as a senior visual and creative supervisor for SABA, the most renowned department store in Australia. He served in that position for 8 years before being named style director of Melbourne Fashion Week and the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. After launching his ready-to-wear for Spring 2008 in New York, he has received significant critical acclaim and editorial credits, including a feature in September 2008 American Vogue. Angel continues to cultivate his celebrity fan base, and come September, his show will feature a renowned model and the designer's close friend--fellow Aussie Nicole Trunfio.
