Viva Vena Cava, Indeed!
(NEW YORK) Vena Cava designers Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai can be found many places--in magazines like Vogue, hard at work in their Red Hook Studio, eating at Marlow & Sons in Brooklyn, and meeting and greeting fans at the Gap, where their wares for the Design Editions imprint are currently for sale as part of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund initiative, which named these two designers as finalists in February 2009.
And now, Mayock and Buhai will be virtually available to Vena Cava aficionados everywhere with their very own blog, VivaVenaCava.blogspot.com. "We came up with the idea when we began working on the Gap collaboration," Mayock explained. "Now, it's taken on its own life. We're documenting our lives and writing about all the things we think are awesome. Before, we'd email them to our friends--now they go on the blog!"
Mayock and Buhai plan to update VivaVenaCava.blogspot.com approximately every other day. "It's not only about fashion, but all the other things in our lives--books, records, making collages, researching fabric, travelling. We like the blog to be well-rounded!"
