Quoi de Neuf, Bill Blass?
(NEW YORK) Back in March, a Daily investigation revealed that none other than Richard Chai was in talks with new Bill Blass owner Peacock Holdings about the prospect of designing the relaunched collection. At the time, Peacock's executive vice president of licensing and sales Scott Patti expected to make an announcement "within a month," but as July approaches, the Blass camp has remained relatively mum.
With a September runway show looking increasingly unlikely, The Daily checked back in with Patti to see if the brand was any closer to securing a creative director. There appears to be no rush. "We’re talking to people, but there's nothing I can divulge," Patti told The Daily on Friday. As for that September show? "We're still figuring things out, so we’ll keep you updated." In other words? Expect the return of Bill Blass ready-to-wear for Fall 2010 at the earliest.
