A Burberry Farewell
(NEW YORK) Merely days after Burberry celebrated what Mayor Bloomberg declared "Burberry Day" commemorating the opening of an illuminated sign atop its new North American headquarters, the brand has lost one of its star players. Alex Malgouyres has left his position as director of US public relations, a position he has held since September 2007.
The very popular Malgouyres, who filled a vacancy left by John Cross, oversaw all Burberry PR initiatives in the US. He began his career with Burberry in 2003, when he spearheaded public relations for France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Switzerland. Prior to joining Burberry, Malgouyres worked in the Paris offices of KCD, handling Alexander McQueen in France and Italy and also worked with Lacoste and Helmut Lang fragrances and in the organization of Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Helmut Lang shows in Milan and Paris. "He has contributed greatly to Burberry and we wish him well in his future endeavours," said Sarah Manley, Burberry's senior vice president of marketing and communications.
