An Animé Edge for Lucien
(NEW YORK) The luxurious French knit company known for its counter-culture edge (think highest-quality cashmere sweaters emblazoned with skulls or cannabis leaves) is about to get a pure pop slant. Lucien Pellat-Finet has teamed up with Tokyo-based artist Mr. (aka Mister, who was discovered by fellow artist and fashion collaborator Takashi Murakami in 1995), to create a series of pure cashmere sweaters and cotton t-shirts for both men and women. Mr.’s colorful, Manga-inspired characters pop up on everything from Pellat-Finet’s sweaters and tees to bed throws and pillows, for a cartoonish take on the coziest basics. The pieces will be available in July at the Lucien Pellat-Finet boutique at 14 Christopher Street.
