(NEW YORK) There are few couture collections quite like the one that creative director Bruno Frisoni dreams up for Roger Vivier. Tomorrow, the New York cognoscenti will be able to experience the 11-piece collection at Bergdorf Goodman from 3-5 p.m. as it makes its maiden voyage to the United States. Frisoni himself will be on hand to walk editors and shoppers through the exquisite pieces, which are available by special order. Naturally, the Roger Vivier Spring/Summer 2009 collection of shoes and handbags will be presented alongside the couture.
“We've been waiting for a good excuse to have a Vivier moment here at BG,” says the retailer's senior vice president of fashion office and store presentation Linda Fargo. “There's something so quintessentially mod-ern about Bruno and his designs. We had to stop ourselves short of painting the entire shoe salon pale pink, but we do plan to make Bruno feel at home by creating an homage to his fabulous, move right in, pan-historical settings. Besides getting to meet the groovy slim man behind the coolest buckle, we're just waiting until our customers get a glimpse of his over the moon Couture creations. Trust me, they will have seen nothing like it!”
