Bravo Gives Fashion Another Shot
(NEW YORK) Pending the untangling of Project Runway’s legal woes, Bravo has wasted no time putting together a suitable fashion competition series, aptly named The Fashion Show. Fifteen professional designers have been chosen and will compete for a chance to have their designs sold in the retail market--oh, and a $125,000 prize. This show’s versions of Heidi, Michael and Nina? Isaac Mizrahi, IMG Fashion’s Fern Mallis, and former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland (can we expect a Beyoncé guest-judging?). In addition, Harper’s Bazaar has signed on at the official magazine partner for the show.
In each episode, the designers will have two challenges: the Harper’s Bazaar Mini Challenge, judged by special projects director Laura Brown and the elimination challenge. Unlike Project Runway, the final winner will not be chosen by the judges, but by America. The Fashion Show premieres on Bravo on May 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
