Exercising Good Judgment
(NEW YORK) For the second year in a row, Oscar de la Renta will enjoy even more administrative responsibilities. He was asked to chair the judging panel of the El Botón–MANGO Fashion Awards, a joint venture between MANGO and five of Europe's most prestigious design schools that show and promote young design talent.
The initiative launched in November 2008 and immediately earned the title of the highest-value fashion awards in the world, thanks to the 300,000-euro prize awarded to one of 10 finalists. Last year, Valentino Garavani served as the chairman of the jury, and he awarded the prize to Belgian duo Sandrina Fasoli and Michaël Marson. The 2009 winner will be announced on April 29 in a press conference occurring immediately before the presentation of MANGO’s Autumn/ Winter collection.
