Versace Does Whiney...Again!
(NEW YORK) While most institutions are struggling to find corporate support and sponsorships for their benefits and fundraisers, Whitney Museum has confirmed Versace as the sponsor for the second straight year for its Art Gala and Studio Party in October. Last year’s event raised millions for the institution and Donatella Versace’s presence attracted the likes of Sting, Mariah Carey, Patrick Dempsey, and Julian Schnabel. “Art is very important in my life,” Versace told The Daily at last year’s gala. “So supporting this amazing museum feels both natural and significant to me.”
During last year’s gala, Versace collaborated on special jewelry collection with three artists that were auctioned off during the event. And nearly fifteen years ago, Gianni Versace helped finance the museum's move of the Richard Avedon 1944-1994 exhibition to Milan's Palazzo Reale and establishing a fruitful relationship between the Whitney and the Italian brand.
