Kira Plastinina Goes Back to School!

Comments | | Print

(MOSCOW) After a year marred by financial disappointments and closings in the U.S. markets, Kira Plastinina is going back to basics by planning to attend fashion school. “If you look at my collection and efforts now versus six months ago, I’ve definitely grown and improved,” said the sixteen-year-old designer at the showing of her upscale Lublu line at the Volvo Fashion Week in Moscow.  “I really want to make my experience complete by getting a professional designer’s education. I want to continue to grow and evolve and inspire the girls that go to my store with stronger and more mature collections.”

And where will Kira land in the classroom? “I was looking at Saint Martins College in London or Parsons in New York,” she said. (Plastinina currently attends The Anglo-American School of Moscow.) “It’s obviously a big choice between two continents but I have about half a year to decide.” In the meantime, there's plenty of work to do--her collections are still wildly successful in Eastern Europe, which boasts approximately eighty freestanding Kira Plastinina retail stores.
