Photographic L.A.
(NEW YORK) L.A.’s Annenberg Foundation is getting even artsier, with the launch of the Annennberg Space for Photography, opening tomorrow night with a bang. The space will kick off with an exhibition titled L8S ANG3LES, a collection of work from L.A.-based photographers John Baldessari, Catherine Opie, Greg Gorman, Douglas Kirkland, Tim Street Porter, Julius Shulman, Lauren Greenfield, Carolyn Cole, Lawrence Ho, Genaro Molina, and Kirk McKoy. The 10,000 square foot gallery space is located on the former site of the Schubert Theater and will encompass both print and digital media. The exhibition itself will present photos from the realms of fine art, architecture, fashion, photojournalism and celebrity portraits, as well as those from everyday life in L.A., appropriately.
Naturally, a fête is in the works to toast the new space, and it’s sure to be a chic affair: Dior and W magazine are co-hosting, and Emmy Rossum, Kate Mara, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anna Getty, Jeremy Scott, Tarina Tarantino and many more are expected to come out to celebrate.
