The Lakme Lineup
(NEW YORK) The worldwide Fashion Weeks keep pushing on, and IMG Fashion's Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, India, is taking a distinctly celebratory turn. Not only is the tradition toasting its 10th year, but the Mai Mumbai benefit event (starring none other than Naomi Campbell) is sure to be one to remember. As of today, 65 designers are participating in shows this season at Mumbai’s Grant Hyatt hotel (60% of these designers are from outside of Mumbai), and 78 designers will be exhibiting in the showroom space.
The week will kicking off with a Barbie fashion show on March 27. The second day of events will focus on menswear and accessories, and the rest of the week will present India’s best womenswear designers like Krishna Mehta, Narendra Kumar, Nachiket Barve, Tarun Tahiliani, and Manish Malhotra. The festivities culminate with Anamika Khanna’s grand finale show on March 31.
