(NEW YORK) Hip L.A. boutique Confederacy has always had its finger on the pulse of cool, and so to kick off L.A.'s Fashion Week, owners Danny Masterson, Ilaria Urbinati, and Aly Mawji have teamed up with Eva Mendes to toast photographer Eric Ray Davidson’s photo diary of New York's Fashion Week. Davidson’s work, shot for The New York Times, will be on display in the boutique-cum-gallery on Hollywood Boulevard. “I love his Fashion Week photo diary because it absolutely captures what Fashion Week really is--both the glamour of it, but also the sheer absurdity of it,” said Urbinati.
The exhibit will open with an in-store fête on March 20. “I honestly haven't seen more true work by a young photographer in a long while,” said Urbinati. “It’s not over the top or showy. I find his photos more iconic than that, so as a show it makes sense. They are photos one would want to own and hang in their home which is ironic for photos that are meant to be ‘of the moment.’ If you can grasp a moment and make it timeless, that's art.”
