Ferré, Confirmed
(NEW YORK) Just Cavalli may not be showing in Milan this season, but fellow Ittierre brand Gianfrance Ferré wants to be clear that their show will take place this Friday as scheduled. “Even at this moment, it is the precise duty of Gianfranco Ferré to work with utmost commitment to protect and defend the values intrinsic to the brand, in light of what it has represented, represents and will continue to represent in the realm of Italian and international fashion and culture,” said CEO Michela Piva in a statement released this afternoon. “It wouldn’t be right for a single season of financial difficulties, accentuated by an unprecedented global economic crisis, to compromise the patrimony and legacy of the Ferré brand worldwide. The company considers this responsibility as no less than a duty that it will fulfil with conviction and determination, in the interest of everyone who has relations with the house: customers, suppliers, business partners and media.” This will be the second ready to wear collection presented by designers Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi, whose inagural Spring 2009 collection was met with critical acclaim.
