Heavy Metal On a Rock and Roll Runway
(NEW YORK) When Elise Overland presents her runway collection on Saturday at Drive-In Studios, her models will be adorned with baubles from a most unexpected source. Alexander Calder, best known for inventing the mobile and currently on exhibition at the Met, also created jewelry. When Overland saw the exhibit at the Met, she simply asked the artist's grandson for permission to borrow the jewelry that wasn't in a museum to use in her show. Talk about sourcing!
