(NEW YORK) On March 9, New York's philanthropists will flock to Lincoln Center as the School of American Ballet celebrates its Winter Ball, sponsored by Van Cleef & Arpels. Designer Zang Toi will take the fashion spotlight at the high-profile benefit, having signed on as a sponsor of The Encore, the Winter Ball’s after party. The Malaysian designer, known for his glamorous, flattering dresses favored by grande-dame actresses and society doyennes, will design the gowns for event chair and philanthropist Pamela Joyner and her daughter, Michelle Giuffrida. Joyner’s confection, christened the “Diva gown,” will be an intricately beaded strapless dress with embroidered French Chantilly lace. This year is the School’s 75th anniversary, and the black tie dinner and dance will be attended by notables such as Chelsea Clinton, alice+olivia designer Stacey Bendet Eisner, and philanthropist and longtime ballet patron Coco Kopelman.
