Drastic Times, Drastic Measures
(NEW YORK) In the increasingly troubled world of retail, some apparel firms are resorting to unorthodox procedures in order to keep businesses afloat. Steven Alan, the New York retail legend who opened up his TriBeCa store in 1994 and his showroom two years later, has been forced to drastically reduce his part-time sales staff and enlist his executive team to help out on the sales floor. Additionally, the top-tier members of the Steven Alan management team learned yesterday that salaries would be cut by 20% effective immediately, while junior staffers saw their salaries cut by 10%.-
