(NEW YORK) As if Missoni hasn’t sufficiently captured the hearts of Italy and America, tomorrow, the brand will enchant Madrid, Spain, with the opening of a multimedia multi-location exhibition titled “The Art of Fabric in Motion.” In three parts, the show will explore the creative and artistic history of Missoni through archival clothing and sketches, virtual scenery, documentaries, video art, furnishings and contemporary dance films. The venues hosting the three fashionable shows? “The Style and Culture of Fabric: A Trip through Tradition and Research” will be on display at the Italian Cultural Institute, “Stripes Talk: From the Origins of Ball of Yarn to Applied Arts” will be held at the Museo del Traje (Costume Museum), and “Color Experiments: From Abstract to Concrete Design” will be installed at the European Institute of Design. In addition (yes, there’s more!), a series of talks, workshops, conferences and debates on themes related to fashion, design, and art will be held with Luca Missoni, the curator of the show and the company’s former menswear designer. “The Art of Fabric in Motion” will be on display through April 5, 2009.
