Fashion's Finest Steps Down
(NEW YORK) IMG, parent company of The Daily, bids au revoir to one of its star players. Chuck Bennett, corporate SVP and head of IMG Fashion, has resigned from his post after 28 years with the company.
Bennett joined IMG in 1980 as a sports agent. He worked in the tennis, clients and broadcasting businesses before being tapped to lead IMG's Models and Fashion divisions in 1992, growing each exponentially and securing IMG's position as an industry leader in both sectors. When Forstmann Little acquired IMG in 2004, Bennett was asked to stay on and lead the Fashion division. "He has accomplished everything I asked of him," Forstmann wrote in a memo distributed this afternoon to company employees. "And today IMG Fashion is at the height of its game. During the years we have worked together, Chuck has become a valued and loyal colleague and a trusted friend. He is one of the most successful executives in our company and he is admired and respected by his colleagues around the globe."
"It has been an honor and privilege to have worked with Ted Forstmann and his management team," Bennett said in the same memo. "I have enjoyed a successful, challenging and rewarding career here at IMG and I am enormously proud of what we have accomplished. I believe the true measure of a company's success is the quality of its employees, and the nearly 3,000 people at IMG around the world are second to none. I am looking forward to beginning this next chapter of my life and I hope to continue to enjoy the friendships I have developed over my nearly three decades at IMG."
