Custo's New CEO

(NEW YORK) Custo Barcelona has named a new chief executive officer of North America. Dara Pauker, formerly the vice president of brand operations at Liz Claiborne, Inc., has joined the company to expand the U.S. wholesale, retail, and online businesses. “Dara Pauker brings the perfect combination of vision and execution to her new role,” said Custo Dalmau, company founder and creative director. “Custo Barcelona will benefit tremendously from Dara's experience and proven ability to grow businesses.”

Custo Barcelona currently has 83 stores worldwide and is launching 7 more in 2009 in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Qatar, Kiev, Caracas, Isla de Margarita and Singapore. "I am thrilled to join such a unique and vibrant brand," said Pauker. "I look forward to growing the business and leveraging its core DNA.  At this somber moment in the retail environment, I see particular opportunity for a brand that embodies optimism and presents a fresh point of view at highly desirable price points."
