More, More, More Hires
(NEW YORK) Regina Haymes is back in to work after an 18-month break. (She did, after all, give birth to a girl named Esme Jemma). The former market director at Marie Claire, who worked under then editor-in-chief Lesley Jane Seymour for about two years, has rejoined her former boss at More, where she is now fashion director. “It was just the right situation for me,” said Haymes, who started last Tuesday, as did Judith Coyne, More’s new executive editor. “I loved working with Lesley and More is a smart magazine. It’s fun that we’re not competing for the same people as everybody else.”
According to Seymour, the plan is to ultimately revamp the book’s fashion and beauty pages and make them upscale without alienating More’s current readership. “It’s not about selling an obsolete trend off the runway,” said Haymes. “It’s about sending an elegant, clean message.” To help convey that, More is bulking up its fashion team. Tara Stewart, Haymes’ former assistant at Marie Claire, is now a market editor at More. Johnny Lichtenstein, who’s worked at Helmut Lang, Michael Kors, and Tory Burch, recently completed a cover shoot with Joan Allen. Rounding out the team are two assistant freelancers and an accessories associate.
Lois Joy Johnson, meanwhile, who previously held both fashion and beauty director titles, remains at the magazine as beauty director.
