(NEW YORK) Fabrizio Freda has been appointed president and COO of Estée Lauder Inc. Freda was previously president, Global Snacks, at the Procter & Gamble Company.

Dan Brestle, formerly COO of Estée Lauder Inc, has been named vice chairman and president, Estée Lauder Companies, North America.

Steve Birkhold
has been named CEO of Diesel. He was previously general manager of Nautica Jeans at VF Corporation.

Kirsti Paakanen will step down as CEO of Marimekko Corp. She will be replaced by Mika Ihamuotila.

Mike Edwards, CEO of Lucy Activewear, is leaving the company. Michelle Lantow, CFO for the company, will serve as interim president while VF searches for a successor.

Sophie Donelson has been named senior editor at Blueprint. She had been senior writer at Elle Décor.

Susan Dominus has been named Metro columnist at The New York Times. She had been editor at nerve.com.

Christie Griffin has been named senior Web editor at Cosmopolitan. She had been Web editor there.

David Masello has been named staff editor at Town and Country. He had been senior editor at Country Living.

Martin Gould has been named senior executive editor at Star. He had been West Coast editor at In Touch.

Brendan Vaughan, senior editor at Portfolio, has resigned. He is returning to Esquire, where he was articles editor, to edit the magazine’s 75th anniversary issue.

has been named publisher at Every Day with Rachael Ray. She had been publisher of Everyday Food at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

Stephanie Waxlax
has been named photo editor at Men's Vogue. She was previously head of art at Getty Images.

Alexandra Mitchell
has been named director of marketing at the New York Observer. She had been senior marketing manager at US News & World Report.

Cary Barbor has been named health director at More. She had been diet, health, and fitness editor at Quick and Simple.

Matt Trainor, formerly associate articles editor at Departures, has resigned. He has joined Ralph Lauren as editorial director of ralphlauren.com, a newly created title.

Darryl Brantley, a 12-year veteran of Vanity Fair where he was most recently contributing associate of public relations, is now associate director of publicity, business, at GQ.

Philippe Contini has been named YSL’s director of image.
 
Bonnie Abraham, formerly national sales director at Kate Spade, is now merchandise director at Valentino and M Missoni.

Oliver Yang has been named chief executive of Valentino Asia Pacific. He replaces Giovanni Di Salvo.

Rossana Bianchi has been named director of Valentino’s retail operations. She was previously at Prada.

Marco Sani has been named operations manager for footwear and leather goods at Valentino, a newly created position. He was formerly at Gucci Group.

Zach Dobbins has been named director of visual and merchandising for Valentino North America. He was previously at Ralph Lauren. 

Pierre Letzelter has been named president of Groupe Go Sport. He replaces Catherine Soubie.

Robert Stevenish, president and COO of Modell’s Sporting Goods, is retiring. CEO Mitchell Modell will add the role of president to his title. Stevenish was previously CEO of Trilegiant Corp.

Marcel Marongiu has been named consulting artistic director at Guy Laroche.

Bert Hoyt has been named VP and general manager of global football at Nike. He succeeds Joaquin Hidalgo. Hoyt was most recently VP and general manager of the Nike German Alpine Region.

Robin Scheer Ettinger has been appointed vice president of marketing at Safilo USA. She was previously director of marketing at The National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Geoff Cottrill
has been named chief marketing officer at Converse. He was previously VP, global entertainment, at Starbucks.

Lisa Wells has been named PR director at Hickey Freeman.

Rob Imig will now oversee Shu Uemura in addition to Kiehl’s in his role as VP of public relations.

Janice Moran has been named fragrance consultant to Perfumania.

Siddhartha Shukla has been named director of communications at Yves Saint Laurent in Paris. He was previously VP of communications at YSL in the U.S.

Elizabeth Stratman, director of marketing and public relations at Nieves Lavi, has left the company to relocate to Washington, D.C.

Caroline Curtis has left LaForce + Stevens. She is now with Rogers & Cowan.
