(NEW YORK) Karl Lagerfeld had a collegiate spring in his step for fall, reworking Chanel's tweeds into campus-ready coats and shirt dresses with elbow-length sleeves. Not that his students were prim or no-nonsense; these were young intellectuals at play, and Lagerfeld piled on colorful plastic baubles and Mondrian-esque wide belts to make his case. For evening, black scoopneck jumpers became surprisingly elegant when paired with high-collared, sheer white silk shirts, which are sure to stand out for the brainier boldface beauties on the red carpet.
