G-Star - New York Spring 2010
(NEW YORK) As always, Pier Morisset's G-STAR show was fashion entertainment at its best. Staged at the Hammerstein Ballroom, models were revealed out of giant white pods and stomped the runway to toe-tapping pop tunes. But despite the show's grandeur, the clothes were still the focus. The perfect blend of urban style and classic tailoring, Morisset's 50's - inspired collection gave us a set of crisp yet cool denim looks. Sharp jackets for women and men in navy and white will be easy sells, and detachable coat tails for the boys were certainly inspired. For ladies, there were flight-attendant-esque blue and white dresses, structured drop-crotch pants, and a très sexy white jumpsuit with risqué slits on either side. A combination of diamond prints and stripes offered a graphic aesthetic for both sexes.
