Luca Luca - Resort 2008
(NEW YORK) If Luca Orlandi has his way, it'll be a cool, cool summer. His opening salvo of breezy, creamy linen ensembles spanned jumpsuits to halter dresses, but their ethereal lightness found a counterpoint in the models' jaunty swagger. The girls slouched down the runway, hands jammed in pockets, as though channeling Daisy Buchanan's tomboyish cousin, a look tiered flapper frocks and slinky, cowl-necked evening gowns topped with driving caps only cemented. The clothes were as chic as they were practical; a leaf green optic print dress looked purposeful and comfortable enough for a round of croquet,|page| and a butter-yellow puff-sleeved smock was elegant enough for afternoon tea—with enough movement for some accompanying biscuits as well. All in all, it proved a most enjoyable garden party that girls with élan won't want to end.-
