Z Z Posen!
(NEW YORK) “I love my city!” declared Zac Posen as a bevy of supporters flanked him last night at Saks Fifth Avenue during the launch of his new collection, Z Spoke, available exclusively at Saks. A humbled Posen gushed, “This whole experience is so thrilling. Now I’m about to go across America with the collection. I’ve felt the demand, I’ve heard the women and now I’m delivering.” Having felt the demand, friends including Rose Byrne and Alexandra Richards perused the racks of sleek separates, cooing over bold prints, pretty detailing, retro blouses and blazers.
Guests indulged in platters of raspberry macaroons and rock candy and sipped on signature Ciroc Z Spoke cocktails. When a friend pointed to blouse, indicating it was a Posen creation, the designer laughed and responded, “That’s yours! It’s a gift! I told you that already!” Truly in his element, Posen joined DJ Kid America in his booth, although left the music to the master and focused on his expertise. Posen talked about the concept behind his new line, explaining, “Z Spoke is truly American sportswear. It’s a New York look that is sophisticated and fun. It’s colorful, minimalist, utilitarian, and above all, chic.” Posen quickly noted his favorite part of his new venture. “I’ve had great fun making denim shorts!” Gearing up for a dinner at Mr. Chow in LA, Posen wiped his brow and sighed, “It’s been full force and full on! My studio has never been more together as a community; the energy is fantastic and I’m so proud of my team.” And how does he keep the wheels turning? “I cook to keep my energy up,” Posen divulged. “Last night I made a dinner of rice and sea urchin. Delicious.”
