(NEW YORK) Karen Elson, Liz Goldwyn, and Tonne Goodman hosted Vintage Vanguard at the Jane Hotel last night to benefit Dress for Success, which helps disadvantaged women dress appropriately for the work force, find careers, and remain employed. An array of 20 vintage dresses from Elson and Goldwyn's personal collections, re-worked by designers like Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, and Francisco Costa, were on display for the eve. Elson is a known collector having once owned a vintage clothing shop near her home in Nashville, so those designers had some pretty fabulous pieces of wearable history to work with. (As for Goldwyn, she's haute off her cover treatment in the Times' Styles section, if you're wondering about her chic ties in fashion, art, and Hollywood...)

The trio brought out tout le monde from the fashion world to check out the re-envisioned clothing. Everyone from designers like Posen, Chris Peters and Shane Gabier of Creatures of the Wind, Erin Beatty of Suno, Jonathan Simkhai, and Monique Pean to editors like Karla Martinez and chicsters like Natalie Joos, Zani Gugelmann, and Annelise Peterson showed up. Hamish Bowles made an appearance to support fellow Vogue colleague Goodman, plus former Vogue-ttes Meredith Melling Burke and Valerie Boster were in attendance.

Tennessee Thomas held down the fort in the DJ booth, while guests were serenaded by Elson in an acoustic performance to close out the night. The Dress for Success Vintage Vanguard project was made possible through a partnership with Atelier Swarovski, a constant champion of supporting creativity within the industry.
