Very Funny Friends, With or Without Kids

(NEW YORK) Besties and babies were on everyone’s mind last night at The Cinema Society and People StyleWatch's premiere of Friends With Kids at Chelsea's SVA Theater. The occasion brought out a coterie of red carpet wonders, including Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox, Edward Burns, Brian D’Arcy James, and the flick's writer/director, Jennifer Westfeldt. Fox glittered in a bejeweled champagne Elie Saab frock as she pouted pretty for the camera and Christy Turlington donned a stellar one-sleeved Stella McCartney Spring navy number. J'adore, ladies!
A who’s who of the comedic world and half the cast of SNL turned up for the screening, including Seth Myers, Jonah Hill, Sarah Silverman, Fred Armisen, Trudie Styler, Courtney Love, Alan Cumming, Gina Gershon, Justin Kirk, Nasim Pedrad, Abby Elliott, and Jay Pharoah.
Aziz Ansari jumped over the velvet ropes to play reporter for a hot second, stealing a moment with a bemused and always dapper Jon Hamm. Red carpet correspondent: Ansari's next gig? We vote oui! Meanwhile, Chris O’Dowd dished about a recent heartfelt evening with his best mates, which included A League of Their Own and a lot of tears. The actor is "terrible" at juggling different relationships, with love as the culprit for occasionally forgetting about his pals. but hopes “once I get married and get tired of my wife, then my male relationships will really bloom.” Forget marriage; Adam Scott's key to life balance is simply sleep! As for besties, Scott found exactly that upon meeting his wife. How, exactly? “We met after a play that I was terrible in, so she was being generous by talking to me," explained Scott.
Guests journeyed downtown to The Top of The Standard afterwards, where the city views grew more resplendent with each Grey Goose Cherry Noir cocktail. Also on hand to celebrate was Jon Hamm, ready to chat about his SNL cameo and wax poetic with your Daily about that "The Real Housewives of Disney" skit. On Lindsay, of whom Hamm played the starlet's faux back-up host? "She was game and I thought she did a great job!” Hamm enthused. But given the choice, Don Draper’s dream SNL host has already done the job, as a matter of fact. “I’m an Alec Baldwin fan from way back, so I think watching what he does on that show, and has done for however many years, is pretty spectacular.”
Also spotted: Ryan Phillippe chatting with Jack McBrayer; Seth Myers making his rounds around the room as often as the trays of truffle grilled cheese triangles; and Kristen Wiig shimmying against those (in)famous floor-to-ceiling windows. Forget Top of the Standard; Wiig, her fellow SNL funny folks, and the rest of the starry bunch were the top of the world, at least for the evening.
