Who Are 'These Girls'?

(NEW YORK) A comedic, crazy-talented crack team of young talents was brought together by Glamour last night at Joe's Pub for some seriously impressive original monologues by Rashida Jones, Zosia Mamet, Olivia Wilde, Aubrey Plaza, and Lauren Miller, directed by Kathy Najimy. After a vid opener by Gloria Steinem (A highlight: "'These Girls' deserve my all-time favorite word: fan-f*cking-tastic!" Go, Gloria, go!), Mamie Gummer, haute on the heels of her NYT  "Sunday Styles" moment, introed the posse of super talented actresses, with a mostly-in-jest imploring to "drink every time you hear the word vagina!" Whether or not the crowd, including SNL faves like Rachel Dratch and Jason Sudeikis, Carla Gugino, Coco Rocha, Connie Britton, plus the Cushnie et Ochs gals seated front and center, followed suit with Gummer's suggestion, the vino was refilled generously, there were herbaceous, citrus-spiked olives to munch on, and the laughter was abundant. Highlights included Jones' opening zinger about everyone's least (or perhaps most?) favorite Facebook status, "It's Complicated," imploring bros to pick up the damn phone more often; Wilde airing her romantic dirty laundry, sans much embarrassment (amen!) in "My Walk of Shame is More of a Strut," and Girls' Mamet lamenting the rule-free hot mess that is dating etiquette in 2012 (your Daily hears you, all too well...). To wrap it up, Amy Poehler hit the stage with a gloriously off-key rendition of Katy Perry's "Firework," followed by an after-bash with Alexa Chung in DJ mode. Hey, Glamour: Can "These Girls" become, like, a weekly occurrence one of these days, s'il vous plait?
