(NEW YORK) What do Carolina Herrera and the Temple of Dendur have in common? The Apollo Circle benefit, of course! Gala hopping socials—about 950 chicsters, give or take—flocked to the Met on Thursday for the ninth annual Apollo Circle shindig, sponsored by the elegant design doyenne for the sixth consecutive year. Naturally, 40 or so ladies in attendance, like benefit chairwoman Lauren Remington Platt, Hilary Rhoda, Hannah Bronfman, and Jessica Stam, donned Mrs. Herrera's red carpet confections (it's tradition, after all).
Prior to the Siren's Spell-themed fête in the museum's Sackler Wing, Mrs. Herrera corralled a troupe of VIPs, including Chadwick Bell, SNL's Seth Meyers, and J. Alexander. Pourquoi? For a toast in the Spanish Court, where the black-tie bunch tippled a glass of bubbly in the name of the bash's gracious host and the evening's raison d'être, the Met's Fund For Art Conservation. Afterward, the late night revelers (champs in hand) filed into the grand hall for a night of dancing, singles mixing, and endless photo opps. (Nothing says "cheese" quite like the pink-lit, carved stone figure of a pharaoh as a snapshot backdrop.) Until next year, darlings!
