The Calvinites Conquer!
(NEW YORK) Like much of New York, we’re starving for a celeb-stocked front row, and of course, it took Calvin Klein and Francisco Costa to deliver by inviting the likes of Naomi Watts, Kate Bosworth, Kerry Washington, Daphne Guiness, Isabel Lucas, and Helena Christensen yesterday's Calvin Klein Collection show at the brand's 39th Street headquarters. For the Australian Lucas, the journey to New York was accompanied by jetlag. “I’m currently on a movie set in Australia,” she said. “And I have to return tomorrow. So I’m spending forty hours on the plane for twenty minutes with Francisco!”
Kerry Washington, meanwhile, had Costa come to her. “Francisco came to the opening night of Race,” she said. “And he loved it. At least that’s what he told me!” Costa kept his front row (which also included every editor that mattered, along with Steven Klein, Craig McDean and Rachel Zoe) captive with 34 looks and appearances by legendary models like Kristen McMenamy and Kirsty Hume as well as an artistic light installation by Berlin-based artist Carsten Nicolai. “I was won over immediately,” said Watts. “I was swooning over the fabrics, the music, the models. Now I have to find Francisco to give him a huge hug!”
But leave it to André Leon Talley to bring the most intriguing date in the room- Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg. “This was fabulous, like I expected,” the actress said. “But André and I do this sort of thing all the time. We’ve spent Christmas together. And I only get my apron out for Thanksgiving and Christmas!”
