(NEW YORK) If it feels like there’s a party happening every day at Diane von Furstenberg’s studio this week---weekends included---that’s because there is. (See you tonight at the Imdependent Filmmaker Project gala!) But hey, when there is a good cause or two to celebrate, why not bring out the cocktails and the mini lobster clubs? Last night, the CFDA president celebrated Mother’s Day in an event to support the White Ribbon Alliance. “Even though it's a holiday essentially invented by Hallmark, it really helps to remind us where we come from, because we all have a mom,” she said. “For me, it's the simplest things that make me happy, like spending time with my grandkids.”

The designer co-hosted the event along with Georgina Chapman, Liya Kebede (who was stuck being named one of Time 100 achievers uptown) as well as Christy Turlington Burns, who showcased a sneak preview of No Woman, No Cry, her film that just premiered at Tribeca. “This is a five year journey for me with this movie,” the Columbia-student-slash-supermodel told us. “So hopefully by 2015, I'll reach out to every last person in this world about maternal health issues.” But what about her hopes for Sunday? “I try not to be planner of our Mother's Day events,” she smiled. “Hopefully Ed will come up with something!”
