Juicy's London Mod and Seventies L.A. Mashup

(NEW YORK) Celeb wattage and a mashup of two very swingin' decades was the glitzy recipe for Juicy Couture's Fall presentation at "Chateau Juicy" last night. First, the ladies, many of whom repped the first half of the collection's "L.A. Loves London" theme: the likes of Anna Faris, Kate Mara, Emma Roberts, Gretchen Mol, Leven Rambin, and Sami Gayle. And, of course, the clothes: a groovy marriage of sunny Angeleno style circa the seventies, with the Mod vibe of London a decade prior, thanks to the brand's chief creative officer and co-president, LeAnn Nealz. This amounted to slinky, often high slit gowns in tangerine and raspberry, skinnies to match, voluminous faux fur toppers, and a visual cacophony of B&W stripes and large-scale floral prints. Plus, of course, lots of sunnies, along with perfectly mussed bedhead to tie it all together.

Other chicettes in attendance included Dalia Oberlander, Lauren Remington Platt, Lily Kwong, and Jessica Stam; in addition to the influx of Hollywood tapis rouge regulars, the L.A. theme carried through to the nibbles on hand, plus Angeleno DJ Michelle Pesce. Also of note: "Chateau Juicy" is actually the Academy Mansion, a gorgeously-in-ruins Roman-style manse on the UES that warranted a tent to be pitched before the space could get Juicy-fied. Playfully glam togs in a setting that's glamorously in disrepair? J'adore! Plus, a fashion moment housed in a tent sort of make your Daily pine for the NYFW tents, many months in advance of Spring 2013...
