(NEW YORK) Quite a crowd headed up to Columbus Circle last night at Time Warner Center’s Screening Room for the premiere of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Hosted by The Cinema Society and Moncler, the New Line Cinema and MGM Pictures film continuing the classic tale begun in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The flick stars Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, who journeys on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erbor. Freeman is also reunited with his co-stars Ian McKellen and Richard Armitage on the silver screen for the thrilling sequel.

The screening attracted some of the film’s biggest stars like Evangeline Lilly, Stephen Fry, and Orlando Bloom, the latter of whom took a night off from his Broadway play, Romeo and Juliet, to attend the premiere. Lilly strutted down the red carpet in a long navy and white Paper London dress, and explained that when it comes to her style she believes that it is important to portray “a certain image of strength.” Bloom opted for a more casual, cool look sporting an all-black ensemble for the occasion.

In addition to the film’s stars, the likes of Chris Benz, Patrick Wilson, Brooke Shields, Jeremy Piven, Sean Parker, and Downtown Abbey’s Lesley Nicol were also in attendance for the screening. The fashion fave of the night was Lindsay Ellingson, who wore a white off-the-shoulder Wes Gordon gown, dished about her personal style—this California girl needs “an element of comfort at all times!”

Following the screening, guests kept the night going via an afterparty at The Lambs Club to enjoy Qui Tequila cocktails and tasty appetizers. Keeping with the theme of the film, the cocktails were named after the main characters, such as Bilbo Baggins and Smaug. A fantasy-filled eve all around!
