Gotham State of Mind
(NEW YORK) Jason Binn doesn’t really believe in subtlety when it comes to organizing Gotham's annual gala, presented by Bing™. He packed hundreds of guests into Capitale, summoned dozens of event workers, and assembled a huge dance floor, countless of food stations, and even a photo studio. And of course, the magazine’s current cover girl Alicia Keys hosted the bash. “This is my town, so it’s really cool to celebrate a magazine cover with so many people I know and love,” said the multi-platinum artist. “I wish all of them could come to my concert, too, but it’s sold out. And trust me--I’ve been getting a lot of calls and text messages!”
The singer was joined by Catherine Malandrino, Nicole Trunfio and Ryan Leslie, Jessica Gomes, Julie Henderson, and Lorenzo Martone. Trunfio and Leslie took advantage of DJ Cassidy’s turntable session. “I’m just warming up for my own birthday party tomorrow,” laughed the model. Grammy winner Miri Ben-Ari took the stage and the spotlight with her own rousing 10-minute set, before she, Keys and about 40 guests headed out for an intimate dinner at Juliet. And Tim Morehouse (who came by with fellow Olympian Sarah Hughes) got a glance at his fashion spread co-starring Amber Rose. “Let's not show this to Kanye,” he joked. “I don’t want to get my butt kicked!”
