(NEW YORK) Since bringing your kids to runway shows has become totally acceptable front-row behavior (just as Robbie Myers, Veronica Webb or Kelly Cutrone), at least now moms can make sure their little ones are appropriately dressed. Yesterday, Bergdorf Goodman opened a 1,200-square-foot children’s shop on the seventh floor of the department store, complete with a floor-to-ceiling tree house. With everything from suiting to sportwear (both off the rack or made to order) by brands like Baby Dior, Loro Piana, Bonpoint, Hickey Freeman, and more, “There’s classic merchandise and, for sure, an injection of fashion,” according to vice president and divisional merchandise manager of children’s and decorative home Nicholas Manville, which shares the floor with the new department. Other brands include Little Marc Jacobs, Vilebrequin, and Petit Bateau.

The space replaces a leased Best & Co. children’s shop on the floor, which closed after the brand declared Chapter 7 liquidation last year. "The closing of Best & Co. was a great opportunity to do children’s ourselves,” said Margaret Spaniolo, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of decorative home, children’s, men’s, beauty and jewelry. “Parents and grandparents never stop buying for children.”
