Elle of a Night
(LOS ANGELES) There is very little that will make a New Yorker feel New York-y like a long, celebs-only dinner table in the garden at the Chateau Marmont. Such was the situation last night when Elle and Tod's joined forces to toast the former's December issue and its cover star, Jessica "Jess" Biel. "Jess was the first cover I shot when I first came to Elle," said host Joe Zee, waxing a bit nostalgic as Jon Hamm, Mindy Kalig, Ed Helms, and of course Jess herself listened in. Following his toast, the ladies, like Mamie Gummer, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jennifer Westfeldt, swapped their Tod's Signature clutches for forks as the burrata and branzino were served.
Lucy Punch, who recently spent some time shooting in Oklahoma, was reunited with her Bad Teacher co-star. Nope, not Cameron Diaz—Justin Timberlake. (For those of you who aren't UsWeekly regulars, he and Biel are likely "on again.") Lee Pace was in town from New York for the Twilight premiere—he's appearing in the next installment, ladies, secure your autographs now. Also in L.A. for the evening was the divine Brooklyn resident Hannah Ware, who's earning raves for her performance in that Kelsey Grammar show, Boss.
Over dinner et dessert, much of the conversation was strictly hors record, but it's safe to say that at Jacqui Getty's end of the table (which was helmed by Tod's Marco Giacometti), discussion centered around careerism, the Cinecitta, and Suzanne Belperron. Eventually, return flights were compared, and cigarettes were lit, and eventually, the valets were summoned. One night on Sunset...
