Dear Daily!
Dear Daily,
I flew up to San Francisco last night with Angelique Soave (in Alexander Mcqueen) and Patrick Herning (in Gucci) to fete Bulgari's new San Francisco flagship boutique. I threw on my Bulgari bling and bugle bead trim-Mcqueen and escaped L.A.'s Oscar madness for a brief respite while seeing all my Bay Area friends in one setting. And they all turned up--including Sloan Barnett (in Léger and Gucci), Tatiana Sorokko (in Ralph Rucci), Katya Sorokko (in Fendi), Juliet de Baubigny (in Alexander McQueen), O.J. Shansby and Carol Bonnie (both in Chanel) Lindsay Bolton (in Marchesa), and Maggie Rizer.
With The Patrick Wolff Trio serenading the crowd, the well-accessorized guests traversed each of the packed floors, including a large lower level devoted to leather goods with a fantastic multi color LED floor that made me want to boogie! Attendees made a beeline for the complimentary monogrammed luggage tags and I took the advice of Bulgari's Rory Hermelee (in a sexy Martin Grant grape jumpsuit) and went with white with silver initials. Passing Mayor Newsom up the stairs to the caviar and vodka floor, I got very distracted not by the libations inspired by signature house fragrances BLV II, Jasmine Noir, and Rose Essentielle, but rather by an artisan assembling a diamond and sapphire parure that communications director Francesca Leoni (in Lanvin) hoped might make Sunday's Oscar red carpet.
As I made it to the VIP room, featuring footage of Bulgari moments on the silver screen, the always glamorous Denise Hale showed me her wrist, which sported a major diamond bracelet purchased from vice chairman Nicola Bulgari's father many years ago. It may have been my favorite jewel of the evening--but it's not for sale!
