(NEW YORK) While the Tribeca's annual film industry takeover as a whole involves a stylish blur of Hollywood heavies and the fashionettes who love them, last night's eighth annual Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner at The Odeon is the chicest of 'em all. On appearances alone, the flood of pastel-y tweeds and snippets of all things chain-strapped, interlocking-C-festooned, and pearl-trimmed everything makes for some great people watching at the din. In this year's Chanel-donning set? The likes of Joan Smalls, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Dree Hemingway, Alexa Chung, and Giovanna Battaglia.

The occasion for so much Karl-designed everything, of course, was about said artists in the supper's title; this year's honorees included Stephen Hannock, David Kratz, Curtis Kulig, Gillian Laub, Robert Longo, Angelina Nasso, Erik Parker, José Parlá, Joyce Pensato, Clifford Ross, William Wegman, and Dustin Yellin. Festival co-founder Robert De Niro bypassed the step-and-repeat to get right into the action (smart move, Bobby). Meanwhile, the likes of Uma Thurman, Julie Delpy, Mira Sorvino, Elvis offspring Riley Keough (in a lovely pale blue frock by—you guessed it—Chanel), Michael Pitt, Leigh Lezark (loving the blond coif!), and Stephanie Seymour mingled. All in all: The kind of major star wattage and prime tapis rouge gawking to constitute a meal to remember. Just your typical Wednesday eve, right?
