Adoring Dior
(PARIS) It was a particularly bustling afternoon at the Tuileries gardens today, thanks to one John Galliano and his Dior show. "I would basically travel anywhere and anytime for John," said Charlize Theron from her front-row perch, as guests milled about madly and observed the pandemonium. "It's basically like a 36-year escape to Dior heaven for me!"
Theron was only one of the thousands of Dior aficonados crowded into the tent. Anna Dello Russo arrived on the later side and had to take a seat on the stairs in the British press section, next to an ebuillient Hilary Alexander. Alex de Betak got things going and cued the models—all tops, from Jessica Stam to Karolina Kurkova to Sasha Pivavarova. Marion Cotillard was not in attendance—en route to the Oscars, perhaps?—but Delphine Arnault was able to be consoled. "At least I have her new Dior album in my hands," she revealed after the show, as Theron caught up with papa Bernard backstage in Galliano's private room. "I can't wait to come home and dowload it all on my iPod."
"This was a beatiful follow-up to couture with all this wonderful sensuality, feminity, and satin," said Audrey Marnay after posing with the VIPs in Galliano's private room backstage. "Now we just have to get our hands on this to be part of the fairytale!"
"I love the mixture of the very soft and feminine with the strong riding woman, who is always beautiful and elegant," said Marisa Berenson as guests filed back out into the Tuileries and models rushed to the 6th arrondissement for the Isabel Marant show. "I met John right at the beginning, at a very intimate little dinner. He was chosen for Dior, and it was not for nothing--he is an extremely creative and brilliant man."
