(NEW YORK) Is bicycling an offical trend? Absolutely, according to the good people at LVMH.Yesterday afternoon, the conglomerate summoned those fancy Fendi wheelers to host the Bike in Style challenge conference at its New York headquarters to announce the winners of the DKNY-sponsored bike gear contest for FIT fashion students. Marion Cotillard, Hilary Duff, and Donna Karan joined LVMH’s chairman Renaud Dutreil in Midtown. “I love New York and I would love to have a place here one day,” said Dior face Cotillard, who flew into the city just for a day. “This is the place where I can really bike, because I actually enjoy walking in Paris. I love riding on the Hudson or downtown but I’ll make my way to Central Park eventually. And at first I was scared of all the traffic, but it was kind of easy and amazing.”

Dutreil, meanwhile, was one of the design competition jurors. “I especially enjoyed the process,” he shared. “I was on the lookout for those perfect ponchos because I was drenched more than once as a rider, not as a businessman.” And Karan could probably be the city’s sole spokeswoman for the cause. “I love biking on West Side Highway, but it really depends on the conditions,” offered the designer. “I’m not too big on hitting the road in the rain or the snow, but the first thing I do every morning is look out of the window and ask myself whether I could bike or not. My favorite thing to do is ride my granddaughter to school, but she knows her way around really well by now. And she’s way faster than me, too!”
