(NEW YORK) Julia may be a bit of a clunker, but last night’s post-Peggy Siegal-screening party was a certified hit. A cross-section of haute New York descended on downtown hostess Alison Sarofim’s Bank Street townhouse for champagne, Pop Burgers...and a bit of le drame. Tilda Swinton, who stars in the film, made nice with guests like Hamish Bowles, Ann McNally, Euan Rellie, Elise Øverland and others in the tented garden of Sarofim’s sprawling party-plex, which had been tricked out for the evening by interiors maven Antony Todd. About an hour into the festivities, a cranky neighbor aimed a hose over the back fence, soaking several revelers--Swinton included--but even that didn’t dim the mood. In these austere times, a little wetness is a small price to pay for a fabulously open bar.
