(NEW YORK) If Ruffian’s packed studio space on 38th Street Thursday night was any indication, designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais are really on to something with their Ruffian Gallery series. After painter Nick Weber christened their studio-cum-gallery with the inaugural show in December, photographer Douglas Friedman took center stage at the second, where his exhibition, titled “Lady,” was browsed and admired by the likes of Poppy Delevigne, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Ann Koch, Tinsley Mortimer, and droves more. Friedman gave his guests the full tour of the striking selection of pink-toned images of women, one of his first forays into portraiture. (In fact, the photographer met Wolk and Morais on a Teen Vogue interiors shoot, where the Ruffians had designed a girl’s bedroom.) As chicsters filed in and out of the photo-lined space, one couldn’t help but wonder where the Ruffian boys’ bread and butter was—their collection, bien sûr. “It’s all in the tiny office!” laughed Morais. We hope they’re not crushing any of those amazing beaded leopard pieces
