Hunting Season

(NEW YORK) “April showers bring May flowers,” laughed Hunter Boot president Wendy Svarre as she welcomed a chic crowd to an intimate luncheon at Le Cirque this afternoon. “And I hope you all have your Hunter boots, because it’s supposed to rain later!” No wonder Di Petroff sported hers to the event, which honored Hunter shareholder Lord Jonathan Marland during his trip to New York.

“This is such a great restaurant. Everyone’s only here for the food,” the British business man deadpanned--athough attendees like Nina Garcia, Fern Mallis, Veronica Webb, Alina Cho, Aerin Lauder, and Antony Todd begged to differ. While dining on foie gras and lobster salad, salmon and risotto, the crowd chatted about what’s new at the company. Your Daily scoop: look forward to leather boots, sheepskin-lined wellies, umbrellas, and possibly outerwear coming soon. “They’re so chic, but it feels like you have tanks on your feet—they’re bulletproof,” said CNN’s Cho. “I wear them even when it’s not raining!” As for Lord Marland? “I’ve ordered my pair,” he joked. “I haven’t gotten the bill yet!”
