You Heart Ronson
(LOS ANGELES) The Bar Marmont in Hollywood was undoubtedly the place to be on Friday night, as Charlotte Ronson and JCPenney ushered in the designer's new I [Heart] Ronson clothing line with a celebrity-packed party and musical performances by Mark Ronson and The Version Players, featuring Daniel Merriweather with deejay Samantha Ronson.
Guests including Sting, Cory Kennedy, Mark Hunter, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Milla Jovovich, Nicky Hilton, Kim Kardashian, AnnaLynne McCord, Shenae Grimes, Jeremy Piven, Sanaa Lathan, Monet Mazur, Jewel, Camille Guaty, Zelda Williams, Rashida Jones, Dean and Dan Caten, Kate Sumner, Drea de Mateo, Daveigh Chase and Paula Patton crowded into the venue to pay homage to the affordable fashion launch and take in a phenomenal live concert—a spectacular celebration of the Ronson family talent.
“I don’t know them personally yet, but I just really like the Ronsons! They’re all creative and amazing at what they do, and it’s kind of unfair, you know?” laughed Stephanie Pratt, peering into the party from the entrance. “Oh and Charlotte’s wearing an army jacket over a floral dress tonight…that’s like my favorite look ever! I love her already.”
As more stars spilled into the soiree, Jessica Paster stepped aside and raved, “What I love about Charlotte’s clothes is that it’s accessible and comfortable for all people. I mean, I’m wearing her little striped top tonight and I’ll probably wear it for the whole week because it’s easy and looks so cute. Her other line was affordable, but now that we’ve got the JCPenney tie-in, it’s even more affordable…which is all the better, right?”
As for the designer, the evening was exactly what she had hoped for. “It just wouldn’t feel right if most of my family weren’t here to celebrate here with me tonight,” Charlotte smiled, nodding to her brother on stage. “I really wanted to show the clothes too, so we created ‘Charlotte’s Closet’ where people can go check out my favorite pieces of the collection and see the designs and quality for themselves.”
The styles, which ranged from ditsy print floral sundresses to high-waisted trouser jeans, received rave reviews from party goers, many of whom selected an item to take home as a gift.
“I’m still that girl, you know? Both of my lines speak to me and I’m mixing and matching pieces and I want my customer to do the same,” Ronson explained earnestly. And what’s next? “Oh, I’m thinking about expanding to baby clothes, maybe? Not that I’m there myself quite yet, but I think everything looks so cute when it’s tiny!”
