(LOS ANGELES) Dear Daily,

It was an evening of glamour and nostalgia as Angelinos assembled en masse for the emperor of fashion, Valentino.

Only his majesty would roll out a signature red carpet the length of Rodeo Drive and squire a bevy of Beverly Hills ladies. Everyone from Anne Hathaway to Betsy Bloomingdale to Tom Ford to generations of Hiltons gathered at the LACMA to celebrate the one and only Los Angeles premiere of Valentino: The Last Emperor. Of course, the Emperor himself was easy to spot, with his signature subjects along side him-- Giancarlo Giammetti and Carlos Souza--along with his other signature sidekick, the Valentino Tan.

The movie was followed by a standing ovation and a few tears anointing his royal highness. After a brief Q&A with the movie's director Matt Tyrnauer, close friends of the Museum and the royal family headed across town for a decadent dinner at the Montage Beverly Hills. Guests such as Rose McGowan, Lady Victoria Hervey, Rachel Zoe, Nicky Hilton, Hathaway and Shenae Grimes were too overwhelmed with emotion to fully take in the 5-course meal, and for good reason. Valentino represents a joie de vivre which cannot amassed through dollars and sense (and buy-outs). Champagne?  Perhaps.
